from Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE)

Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 7:30am - 9:00am

Health Care Reform has brought the crushing issue of rising health care costs to the forefront of public policy discussion in a way that increases the likelihood of it being addressed in a comprehensive manner. James Roosevelt, Jr., president and CEO of Tufts Health Plan, one of the nation's leading health plans, shares his thoughts on why now, and what is available to employers and others to help curb costs.

Mr. Roosevelt's involvement in the Democratic National Committee, currently as co-chair of the Rules and By-laws Committee and former chief legal counsel for the Massachusetts Democratic Party in addition to his vast experience as Chairman of the Massachusetts Hospital Association and Massachusetts Association of Health Plans, places him in a unique and influential position fueling healthcare reform and its implications.

About Our Speaker:

Mr. Roosevelt joined Tufts Health Plan in 1999 as senior vice president and general counsel and held that position until June 2005, when he became president and chief executive officer. As the general counsel, he presided over the legal department and the company's compliance, privacy and government relations functions.
