Early-Stage Dollars: Government and Other Programs for Funding Your Dream Without Giving Up Equity
from North Shore Technology Council
This event has passed.
Wednesday, April 30, 2008, 7:00am - 9:00am

How do entrepreneurs like you access a piece of the over $2 billion distributed by the U.S. government though the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs? A key benefit of these programs is that you can secure an infusion of cash without giving up equity.

While accessing SBIR and STTR programs involves highly technical work, it also entails approaches similar to those used in securing angel or VC funding. The panel will touch on important nuances that can help you win a grant.

At the April NSTC Business Breakfast, you'll learn about what works and what doesn't when trying to secure SBIR or STTR funds. You'll get practical advice on when these programs can be the lifeblood of a growing company and when they may be a waste of time.

Panel:

Our panelists will include a company CEO who used SBIR as a funding source, as well as:

- Dr. Linda Plano, Associate Director, Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center (MTTC)
- Richard Lusignea, Founder of Fulcrum Solutions Inc.
- John 'Jay' Schwartz, Ph.D., Director of Life Sciences at Stage1 Strategies, LLC
