Development Capacity Modeling
from American Society for Quality - Boston
This event has passed.
Thursday, March 13, 2008, 6:00pm - 9:00pm

This presentation describes an improved way to control the startup of new projects. Through the use of a capacity visualization model, it allows technical and non-technical staff to understand 1) where development capacity is being applied, 2) upcoming inter-project resource constraints, and 3) the utility of different portfolio scenarios.

The model and decision support process permits groups like sales, product management, QA, manufacturing, technical support, etc. to participate as equal partners with development in the prioritization of all work (projects, maintenance, and overhead) to be performed. Arriving at a timely and optimum solution is a collective responsibility. Controlling the workload improves performance and coordination across the enterprise.
