Whether they want higher salaries, better career opportunities or more help at home, women are much less likely than men to ask for what they want. Sara looks at demographic and labor market trends as well as the impact of attrition on a company's bottom line to demonstrate the critical importance of hiring and retaining talented women for any organization that wants to remain competitive in the growing global economy.
About the Presenter:
Sara Laschever is a writer with a longstanding interest in the obstacles faced by women in the workplace. Her work has been published by The New York Times, The Harvard Business Review, Vogue, Glamour, and other publications. She earned her B.A. from Princeton and M.A. from Boston University. She lives in Concord, Massachusetts.
