Early Stage Companies can often be financed through various strategic alliances with vendors, customers, distributors, OEMs, VARs, universities, technology partners, or third parties with complementary products and services. This can be a great way to help build early technology and help an early stage company get through certain development milestones that can increase the likelihood of equity financing. However, these relationships do not always have the anticipated outcome that each party expects, with the priorities, rights, and responsibilities of the parties sometimes becoming confused or altered.
